Abstract
Fourty cases of dyspneic patients `Chiefly from cardiac origin, were studied for the purpose of tests df reiieability from the distress by positional changes of the patient using hospital bed.
Followings were the results.
1) Respiration and pulse rate were proportionately reduced according to the gradual inclination of the bed.
And their reduction rates were almost pararelled with severity of the sufferings.
2) The inclination of the bed giving more comfortable position in these patients were proportionately increased according to the severity of the distress.
3) The inclinations in a position of most comfort were observed as folloswings.
i) In the group of cases of dysponea with slight exercise but no dyspnea at rest (classI) was 15¢ª.
ii)In the case of mild dyspnea at rest but tolerable to recumbent position (Class ¥±) 45¢ª.
iii)In the group of cases of maked dyspnea at rest and tolerable to recumbent position(class was 75¢ª)
